The
39th President of the United States spent his childhood on a farm near
Plains, Georgia. After successfully operating a peanut warehouse
business in Plains, Jimmy Carter achieved a level of politics that
surprised many people in the area and elsewhere as well. After losing
the election to a second term, President Carter and his wife Rosalynn
returned to Plains, Georgia where they reside today. From their home in
Plains, the Carter Center in Atlanta and the Rosalyn Carter Institute
for Human Development in nearby Americus, the Carters continue to
support charitable and political causes throughout the World.
