On a crisp October day in
Southwest Georgia there is no better place to visit than Smithville.
Located in the northern part of Lee County near the Lee-Sumter County
line you will find and area known for many of the crops grown on local
farms such as peanuts, cotton and corn. On this day in late October
however, the thing that is on most everyone's mind is a product of the
farm but is not a crop. It was time once again for the 9th Annual
Chicken Pie Festival.
What follows is certainly not a photo of
everything that was a part of the festival this year but might give you
some idea of what you missed. If you didn't make it this year then we
hope we will be seeing you next year.
At 2:00 PM they were still coming for the chicken
pie.
